patisserie Christian Escriba (Antigua casa de Postas Figueras)

83, La Rambla /1, calle de la Pextina (ex rambla Sant Josep), Barcelona in 1902 by ROS i GUELL

This wonderful shop is situated in one of the most crowded street of Barcelona (La Rambla). The facade is stressed by imbricated and asymetric arches covered with green mosaic and supporting a stain glass (pictures #1 & 2). The corner of the two street is enhanced by a stone sculpture of a woman (picture #4). The iron door handles (picture #3) recalls noodles that were made in the casa de Postas Figueras. (Fabrica de Pastas Alimenticias = Noodles Fabric)
